2016 is a year for adventure. It’s a year for change. But not just any change -- change that you actually WANT. Not what you should do, but what you want to do.
It’s January, which means it is time to get back to the daily grind of balancing work and play. It’s exciting having a new year and a fresh start -- but balancing work and play doesn’t get any easier.
But that doesn’t mean that you don’t need to relax. Most people just have trouble balancing the two. Who wants to pull their hair out from stress? No thanks!
Here are a few suggestions for surviving daily life pandemonium and keeping your sanity in 2016!
Most Important Tasks (MITs): Every day write down three or four of the most important things you want to get done that day. Complete them first. Taadahhh! You’ve been productive today!
Wake Up Earlier: Start waking up 1 hour earlier (possibly do some of your MITs) and get some stuff you need to get done before work starts.
Eat the Frog: Mark Twain said, “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day”. Do your most unpleasant task first.
Do it Now: Give yourself 60 seconds to make decisions. Take advice from Nike and, “Just Do It”. Be bold and be decisive even when you’re not sure what the outcome will be.
Unclutter: Being able to access what you need when you need it is an easy way to stay on top of all the work that you need to get done. Our secret? GRACESHIP’S London Bag keeps all your work essentials separated and organized into specific pockets -- no time wasted digging through your purse to find your keys!
- Appointment with Yourself: Schedule a time every week to go over how your life is currently going. Are you relaxing enough? Sleeping enough? Figure out how you are doing and help make this year the year for you.
Let’s face it -- there is something exciting about starting the new year and having new goals. Organization always makes it in the top five of our New Year’s Resolutions. We saved the best secret for last. Head on over to GRACESHIP's website and see my favorite way to stay organized in 2016!
