Women-Owned Certification

On October 1, 2014, GRACESHIP was awarded a coveted certification from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. In order for a company to receive this, they must be able to prove that 51% of the business is owned, operated, and controlled by women. WBENC strives to promote businesses owned by women in an effort to help enhance the opportunities available to them through the use of their 14 Regional Corporate Partner Organizations.

GRACESHIP Women Business Enterprise National Council CertificationWBENC’s core values consist of certification, opportunities, and resources. Applicants are reviewed by the Certification Review Committee to ensure that the company meets WBENC standards. Many opportunities are then provided to those companies who pass the review process. Among these opportunities are access to many resources that WBENC provides to it’s memebers including nationwide training to help members better run their businesses.

Despite the tedious application process and what seemed to be never ending reviews from various application committees, GRACESHIP could not be more excited to have received such an honorable award. We have worked very hard to receive this and know that this partnership with WBENC will be a great asset to growing our company. We plan to utilize this partnership to assist us in placing bags on the shelves of major stores, helping to increase our sales and also make the bags more available to you. WBENC looks at its members as investments in women who are making a difference in the business world and therefore, they work with them to help further promote business activities.

WBENC has many corporate members that work together with them to help advance these women owned businesses. A few of their prominent coroporate members that you may recognize include companies such as Office Depot, Macy’s, J. C. Penney’s, Walmart Stores, UPS, and Target.
